A Christmas Cinderella Receives Standing "O"

On Friday, December 2, the Lighthouse Children Players put on their 8th stage production delighting nearly 300 audience members at the El Dorado Springs First Baptist Church Family Life Center. 25 Lighthouse Children’s Theatre students ,ages 4-17, were in the cast of the winter 2011 Lighthouse production and each shined their light brightly for a capacity crowd. Co-directing this production, Lynne Hedrick and Jane Griffin were pleased with how well each child performed and with the audience response. Hedrick commented, “Our students feel very good about themselves after practicing 18 hours over the last seven weeks to bring this production to the stage.

The Lighthouse Children's Theatre  executive board of directors met for their annual meeting on Monday, Sept. 26 to reaffirm their mission, install new officers and welcome returning board members. The 2011-12 LCT board of directors include Ernie Harris (retiring Chairman of the Board); Treasurer pro-tem, Nancy Harris; Vice President, Leana Johnston; Executive Director, Lynne Hedrick and Secretary, Sarah Wright as well as Shawn Abell Rusty Murry, Natalie Eberhard, Bob Coleman, and new Chairman of Board, Dr. Bob Willenbrink.

Lighthouse shines brightly in Peter Pan-the Musical

The Lighthouse Children's Theatre wrapped up their spring/summer semester with LCT's 2011 summer production
last Wednesday and Thursday in front of nearly 300 in attendance. Theater goers filed into the First Baptist Church's
Family Life Center located at 500 S Main and were delightfully whisked away to Neverland in LCT's rendition of
Peter-Pan, a musical in two acts.
